I love Green Lake Dental! The staff at the front desk are knowledgeable and friendly and are super helpful with my questions. I love my hygienists and their attention to detail. I am quite impressed with the quality work that Dr. Kirby does. I have had this filling from several years ago that I had accidentally pulled out twice while flossing, due to the awkward position of the filling, and had to have replaced in a different office. Last year, Dr. Kirby replaced it for me and I have had no problems with it at all! He did a great job and I am excited to find that I no longer have to worry about it. Dr. Kirby Johonson
Dr. Kirby Johnson brings a well-rounded and deeply rooted dental background to Green Lake Dental.
Growing up in Marshall, Minnesota, he was surrounded by dentistry from an early age—both his father and brother are practicing dentists, and their influence helped spark his lifelong passion for patient care. Dr. Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University before graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he distinguished himself through his academic achievements and clinical skill.Following dental school, Dr. Johnson completed a rigorous one-year General Practice Residency at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center in June of 2015. During this residency, he gained extensive experience in comprehensive dental care and developed advanced training in prosthodontics, oral surgery, implant dentistry, and the management of medically complex patients. This strong clinical foundation continues to guide his dedication to delivering high-quality, personalized care to every patient he meets.
In July 2015, Dr. Johnson joined Green Lake Dental, taking over for Dr. Mark Bloomquist, who retired after serving the Spicer community for 34 years. Since stepping into this role, Dr. Johnson has embraced both the practice and the people with genuine enthusiasm. He takes great pride in forming lasting patient relationships, helping individuals feel comfortable in the dental chair, and providing care that is grounded in compassion, precision, and expertise. Patients and team members alike describe him as knowledgeable, caring, approachable, and an exceptional clinician.
Outside the office, Dr. Johnson leads an active and family-focused life.
He enjoys spending time at the lake, skiing, hunting, fishing, and playing hockey. Community involvement is also a major part of who he is. He is highly engaged in organized dentistry, having served the Minnesota Dental Association as a member of the Board of Trustees, a delegate to both the ADA and MDA House of Delegates, and a committee chair. Locally, he is an active member of the Spicer Sunrise Lions Club and Spicer Commercial Club and serves as co-president of his neighborhood association.
Dr. Johnson and his wife, Hallie, are proud to raise their children—Crosby, Graham, and Reese—in the Spicer area. They truly love calling this community home and enjoy everything the lakes region has to offer. Through his professional dedication and community involvement, Dr. Johnson remains committed to supporting the health, well-being, and comfort of every patient who trusts Green Lake Dental with their care.
Dr. Zachary Reierson
Dr. Zachary Reierson brings a unique blend of Midwestern roots, global experience, and genuine passion for patient care to Green Lake Dental. While he proudly claims Aberdeen, South Dakota, as his hometown, Dr. Zach grew up across several Midwestern states and even spent five years living overseas—a background that has given him a broad perspective, strong adaptability, and a deep appreciation for connecting with people from all walks of life.
He completed his bachelor’s degree at Northern State University in Aberdeen, where he developed a strong interest in science, service, and healthcare. Shortly after graduating, Dr. Zach spent nearly a year working at Green Lake Dental, an experience that not only confirmed his calling in dentistry but also helped shape his patient-centered approach to care. He then went on to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he received comprehensive training in modern dental techniques, preventative care, restorative dentistry, and patient comfort.
Returning to Green Lake Dental feels like coming full circle for Dr. Zach. He values forming long-term relationships with patients, helping them understand their oral health, and providing treatment that enhances both confidence and quality of life. One of the aspects he enjoys most about dentistry is seeing the meaningful transformation that a healthy, confident smile can bring to a person’s daily life.
When he is not at the office, Dr. Zach enjoys an active and well-rounded lifestyle. He is an avid guitarist, a baseball enthusiast—whether watching or playing—and loves spending time outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and exploring Minnesota’s natural beauty are among his favorite pastimes. He is also actively involved in his profession, serving as a member of the Minnesota Dental Association and representing the organization as a delegate at the MDA House of Delegates.
Dr. Zach is grateful to be part of the Spicer community once again and looks forward to building lasting connections with the patients and families who call Green Lake Dental their dental home. With his warm personality, thoughtful approach, and commitment to high-quality care, he is dedicated to helping every patient feel comfortable, understood, and confident in their smile.
